Mahindra XUV 500 coming out with two wheel drive version
Months ago, there were rumours that the Mahindra XUV 500 SUV's launch would be made through just a two wheel drive option and the four wheel drive option would see its dawn later on. But, recently there was news that both two wheel and four wheel options would be available when it is launched. Now, it is the day of Mahindra XUV500's launch, and the things have become clear enough. The Mahindra XUV500 is being launched with a two wheel drive option, and the the four wheel drive option would be made available later on. This news has been revealed by a reliable source. The reason behind this move from Mahindra is being sighted as company strategy to launch the SUV at the price of around Rs. 14 Lacs and giving it a kick in the Indian market. However, Tata Motors adopted the exact opposite strategy by launching its SUV, Aria in four wheel drive option and then introducing the front wheel drive option months later.

The Indian automobile market is facing a slow down and the strategy adopted by Mahindra could prove helpful in making XUV500 in the spotlight. The Mahindra XUV500 is Mahindra's first SUV featuring a monocoque body. XUV500 is powered by a 2.2L common-rail turbo diesel engine, that produces peak power of 140Bhp and peak torque of 326Nm. The design of the XUV500 is excellent, and certainly Mahindra's best job till date. This quite rightly proves Mahindra's desires of becoming a global brand. Mahindra XUV500 is being launched in India and South Africa simultaneously. The launch Mahindra XUV500 is scheduled for today.
