Mahindra XUV 500 Europe launch next month
Mahindra’s Cheetah inspired SUV XUV 5OO has tasted success in India and has relished it in Australia and South Africa. Now the SUV is all set to head to Europe this September. Notably, Mahindra has planned this SUV to be a global SUV and that is why this has been extensively assessed for foreign markets. Meanwhile, plans for US launch are still in dark and it could possibly take another six months for Mahindra to make way for its cars to be exported to US. Initially, the XUV 500 will be exported as completely built unit and later if the demand persists, Mahindra could think of a local plant there as well. As per the recent reports, Spain will get the first XUV 500 and later it will be launched in many other European countries.
In Europe, the Mahindra XUV will be competing with the Nissan Juke and the Dacia Duster that have settled themselves more than comfortably and entry of a new SUV will be a surprise and matter of hate for them. It is expected that following its highly affordable nature and the up market looks, this SUV will be able to get an edge over its competitors. However, Indian SUVs in Europe are not famous and thus Mahindra could face initial challenges but it is said that following the price and specifications of the car, the XUV 500 will take less than average time to settle as a brand in Europe. Also affordable SUVs will be a hit there as the economy is going through a bad phase and people are on the lookout of low cost cars.
As per the sources information, the car maker will be expanding the capacity to over 5000 units per month so as to meet the rising demand for the SUV in India and also to meet the demand that is projected in the overseas ventures. Like the Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra Bolero, the car maker wishes to launch XUV 500 to over 40 countries.
