Mahindra XUV 500 low price model coming soon, top variant addition in the offing
The increase in price of big SUVs such as the Mahindra XUV 500 due to the budget is certainly going to dent the sentiment in the Indian car market. But in order to recoup the loss, the car maker has decided to launch an entry-level variant of this SUV as well as another top-end variant that will be studded with features that will be all segment first. It is believed that the cut price version of the XUV will be very low on features and it will be just the looks that Mahindra will be able to put forward apart from some features. Meanwhile, the top-end variant of the car will have features borrowed from Ssangyong Mahindra Rexton.
Where the low priced edition of the XUV will have a strong presence in the market as it will be competing with the Renault Duster that is stealing a lot of its customers only due to hefty price tag of XUV. Since its launch in 2011, there are over 50k XUVs sold and it is among the best selling Mahindra cars in India. Thus introducing a price cut variant will only make it more charming in the segment and those who wish for it but fear from shelling out this much amount will be able to buy the low price edition.
Manual AC, normal music system and a lot of other basic features will be there even on the entry level model. Whereas the top variant will have a lot of features borrowed from Rexton and this model will be competing with Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and other cars in the segment and will do a big damage to these big wigs. It is also believed that there will be no engine related variations and so event the entry level XUV 500 model buyers will have a chance to experience the same power and performance of the top model.
