Mahindra XUV 500 now launching in Korea and Russia

Mahindra & Mahindra is stepping towards the growing overseas market by assembling its most admired ‘Mahindra XUV 500’ SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle). The Korean and Russian automotive markets will be the next destinations for the company that will be graced with the launch of XUV500. The company’s South Korean subsidiary Ssangyong Motors will have the major contribution in this deal.

However, the marketing strategies for the upcoming Mahindra vehicles are yet to be decided. On the other side, Ssangyong vehicles will be sold under the flagship of the Korean brand in Indian market. Both the companies are planning to increase their brand values and strengthen the grip over their domestic markets by developing a new platform, expected to get ready by 2015.

The Ssangyong (SMC) Research & Development capabilities are at the final stages of assessments, conducting by the Mahindra & Mahindra. In order to expand its Indian operations M&M is planning to launch two Ssangyong’s SUVs namely, Mahindra Rexton and Mahindra Korando. With the total investment of Rs.100 crores company has assembled the Rexton production unit in Chakan, Maharashtra.

The Ssangyong Rexton SUV will go on sale by the end of this year whereas, the Ssangyong Korando SUV is expected to launch somewhere in 2013. Moving ahead, M&M is increasing the SMC’s distribution channel and assemble the company’s vehicles in Russian market with the support of the Ssangyong’s Russian distributor ‘Solaris’.

Company will start the CKD operations within two years, if the plans go well. As per the speculations, the Mahindra XUV500 will be launched against the Dacia Duster in European markets by 2013.
