Mahindra XUV 500 to explore Australia, Italy, and Chile soon

The world class global SUV – Mahindra XUV 500 by the homegrown car maker Mahindra seems to be on a foray into Australia, Italy, and Chile. In India, the XUV 500 has done exceedingly well and has bagged more than tremendous response from the Indian SUV buyers. In the first phase it bagged more than 8000 booking and there were 25,000 + bookings in the second phase. The Rs 11.11 lakh priced XUV 500 beats its opponents such as Tata Safari and Force One SUV with its stunningly world class looks and features.

The decision to plunge into foreign markets is part of the planning for the XUV 500 SUV as Mahindra has made it as a global SUV from the beginning. Its launch in South Africa has already been full of good response and now that Mahindra plans Australia, Italy, and Chile launch, the XUV 500 SUV will further add to it in becoming a global SUV. As per several media reports, the XUV 500’s launch in Australia, Italy, and Chile add another chapter to Mahindra’s dream of making the SUV rule the segment world over. Reports further suggest that the XUV 500 has been highly adapted to the local norms of Australia and Chile and a left hand drive system has been introduced for Italy.

However, Industry experts believe that Mahindra’s decision to make XUV 500 a world SUV will put pressure on the production at the Chakan facility. This SUV is in high demand in India and still there is waiting period for it and starting exports will add to the worries. As per sources, it is said that Mahindra will be increasing the production of XUV 500 from 3000 units presently to 4000 units from May and it will ease the pressure on production thereby improving availability in the country and for exports.
