In order to make its objective come true it will amplify the manufacturing of XUV 500 at its Pune based production unit by April 2012. Currently its Pune based Chakan plant rolls out 110 XUV 500 per day that will be raised by Mahindra to 160 vehicles each day by April 2012. The off-roader was tremendous hit as soon as it was launched in India, as it gathered a booking of 8,000 vehicles within 10 days of its introduction, which led the company to call-off any fresh bookings for XUV 500. The company is expected to re-open the bookings of Mahindra XUV 500 by this month. There are reports that it will possess an increased cost of around INR 55000 on the existing price of the SUV.
