Mahindra XUV500 W6 updated with automatic transmission
Going through the increasing use and requirements for automatic transmission system domestic car maker Mahindra and Mahindra has upgraded its best selling SUV XUV500 with automatic transmission system. The automatic transmission system has been offered in W6 variant of SUV and has been launched with price tag of Rs. 14.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Navi Mumbai). As far as integration of additional features are concerned there is no cosmetic change offered in XUV500 W6 Automatic and will continue to be sold without reverse camera, smart key, door ajar warning etc which are offered in top end automatic variant of XUV500.
Under the hood Mahindra XUV500 W6 empowers 2.2 litre four cylinder mHawk diesel engine boosting the power of 140bhp and sports features like hill hold, hill descent control and dual front airbags. The XUV500 has been a fruitful product for domestic car maker which has garnered huge success in Indian car market but expecting the cut throat competition from recently launched Toyota Innova Crysta car maker has taken this step.
In the words of Mr. Vivek Nayer, Chief Marketing Officer, M&M, "The Automatic Transmission of the New Age XUV500 has resonated very well with our customers since we launched it in November 2015,” He also added "I am sure that the availability of the Automatic Transmission across variants and a range of price points will now render this technology more accessible to a larger base of customers and make the XUV500 a more attractive proposition amongst a wide spectrum of buyers."
