Mahindra Xylo 4WD version to launch soon in India
If it is a Mahindra car, it has to be 4WD. Going by this popular belief and the tradition that the homegrown SUV maker has set in by offering superb off roaders in India, the Mahindra Xylo is almost ready to have a four wheel drive transmission soon. It is said that Mahindra Xylo was originally made to be a 4WD car but in order to keep its price down, the non 4WD version was released first. As per reports, all the necessary preparations for the installation of the 4WD transmission in Mahindra Xylo have been done and the final all wheel drive avatar is soon to be launched. If this becomes a reality, Xylo will be the first MPV to have a four wheel drive.
Industry reports also reveal that the new stronger and sturdier Mahindra Xylo incarnation is almost ready and has been tested in the Mahindra Great Escape to Khimsar in Rajasthan. The tests have been truly positive with no signs of any trouble en route, the report said.

Mahindra Xylo uses the Borg & Warner system for its 4WD nature and is made for it in order to unleash its true SUV capabilities. This system distributes enough power to all the wheels simultaneously and thus the Xylo becomes another great option for all-wheel drive lovers who would have thought twice before plunging their Xylo in sandy, marshy or rocky areas. But now with the new Xylo coming soon, one can stretch it to nay terrain with the comfort and convenience of a sedan inside. With the new transmission system on, the new Xylo will be able to have better road grip in even slippery conditions though it will still have limited off roading capabilities.
Sources also revealed that Mahindra Xylo may not have such great market in India as there are already so many options available and thus the SUV maker may concentrate on exporting it to countries like South Africa where SUVs are in great demand.
