There has been anticipation for the Xylo Mini since it was declared that the SUV maker is making the Xylo shorter to produce a mini avatar. Basically a five seater, the Mahindra Mini Xylo is expected to take a price tag of Rs 5 lakh. Codenamed U203, the Mini Xylo was expected to take on the looks of the older Xylo but the latest spy shots reveal that it too will be truly a mini avatar of the present generation Xylo. This shift could be due to the greater appreciation the new face of the Xylo MPV has received from car buyers recently. Thus Mahindra wants to cash in both on the looks and the price.

Overall, the Mahindra Mini Xylo SUV will have compact SUV features unlike its senior MPV. Experts were anticipating the new Xylo to have SUV traits but the launch has left them in tizzy. Now that the Mahindra compact SUV is in the making, it will have sports utility car features. However, some of the rendering of the Mini Xylo reveal it more like a small hatchback rather than a compact SUV. A three cylinder version of the 2.2 L mHawk engine is expected to be in the making for the Xylo Mini. The four cylinder 2.2 L mHawk is currently in service of the Xylo and Scorpio.
