Maruti could prepone XA Alpha launch sometime near Duster, Ecosport launch this year
Now that French car maker Renault and American car maker Ford are speeding up their efforts to launch their SUVs – Duster and Ecosport respectively, Maruti seems to accelerate its efforts in launching its new SUV – Maruti XA Alpha. Slated to be launched early next year, Maruti is reportedly in the process to hasten its efforts and come out with the XA Alpha this Diwali. The compact SUV was unveiled at the Auto Expo held in January this year in New Delhi and is expected to be launched at a price tag of Rs 7 lakh to Rs 9 lakh. This will be the first true SUV that will also have diesel motor unlike its other SUVs Maruti Gypsy and Maruti Grand Vitara that have only petrol versions available in India.

The compact SUV segment is eagerly awaiting new entries such as Renault Duster and Ford Ecosport. The sole player Premier Rio is already equipping itself to face the competition with the new compact SUV coming its way. If there is really any competition between them and Rio. Now that Duster and Ecosport are coming this Diwali, Maruti will be working extra time to bring in the XA Alpha launch near the festive season. Reasons for this are quite obvious and it is that if Renault Duster and Ford Ecosport are launched this year end and XA Alpha is launched early next year the earlier will be able to establish themselves better than the latter.

Auto Experts suggest that in the light of the Maruti Ertiga’s grand success, it will not matter a lot if the XA Alpha is launched this year or early next year. However, the sooner the better is the mantra that works well always. Maruti did this with the Ertiga before the Chevrolet Enjoy or Nissan Evalia could come and so will it do with XA Alpha.
