Maruti Eeco limited edition christened ‘Smiles’ launched
India’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki India has inducted the limited edition of Maruti Eeco that has been named Eeco Smiles. MSI has given cosmetic touch up to the vehicle with no mechanical change and is still powered with the 1.2 litre petrol motor. The 1.2 litre petrol engine engenders a maximum power of 73 Bhp and a peak torque of 101 Nm. Unlike other vehicles in India, Eeco’s engine is placed under the front seats, which is harmonized to a five speed manual transmission. Maruti Suzuki’s strike at Manesar unit ends; all workers reinstated, 30 still in suspension
Today the 21st of October marks the end of 14 day long deadlock at Maruti Suzuki India’s (MSI) Manesar based manufacturing unit. The conclusion came in after a three party agreement was signed; these included MSI administration, workforce and Haryana state government. As per the agreement MSI will now restore its 64 permanent employees along with 1200 casual workers, the remaining 30 employees will stay suspended. Maruti’s global car to hit roads by year 2017
The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki is looking forward to launch a new fully independently developed global car by year 2017. The company has already started expansion process of its new Research & Development capability situated at Rohtak. The Japanese partner Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) will be providing Maruti some assistance in developing this car. The new global car will be developed mainly by domestic engineers. CERC desires fuel efficient Automobiles
The Consumer Education and Research Centre (CERC) have asked the Bureau of energy Efficiency (BEE) in Ahmedabad, to make fuel efficiency standards and labeling for automobiles mandatory in India. Regarding this, a representation has been sent to Director General (BEE) by CERC. Bee has already started star labeling which indicates power consumption of electrical equipments like refrigerators, air-conditioners, ceiling fans, geysers and distribution transformers.
