Maruti Ertiga launch moment has created history for Maruti as it has given India the much awaited MPV. Starting at Rs 5.89 lakh for the entry level Lxi version, the Maruti Ertiga price is what will take it forward in India. The high end Maruti Ertiga Zdi price is Rs 8.45 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom New Delhi. As per the theme of the car, the launch event was too filled with LUV and whoever saw the car gradually appearing inch by inch was sure that Indian car market has finally got its Life car in the form of this Life Utility Vehicle as Maruti calls it. Such moments are akin to the launch of Maruti 800 and Maruti Alto. Both these cars created history in India.

To be a close rival of Toyota Innova and Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 BSIV, the Ertiga launch has proved yet again that Indian car market leader was and will be Maruti and now in the MPV segment as well Maruti will rule. The launch has also cleared all doubts and series of speculations regarding the specification of the car. The car is launched in both petrol and diesel options. The Ertiga petrol has a K-14 VVT 1.4 litre petrol engine while the diesel powered Ertiga has DDis turbo engine that is highly efficient both in power delivery and mileage. The Maruti Ertiga has been launched in five speed manual version only. The seven seater Maruti Ertiga diesel is expected to have a mileage of over 20 kmpl. Whereas a 16.02kmpl mileage is claimed for the petrol version. Imbibing the looks of Maruti Swift and Maruti Ritz hatchbacks, the Ertiga preserves its identity in being huge in size and an upright stance.

Despite of being a global model, the Ertiga has been designed strictly keeping in view the needs of Indian car buyers. Maruti plans to sell 5000 units of Ertiga every month and sensing the kind of response at the launch and the media coverage, it seems that it will cross 7000 – 8000 unit mark in the first month.
