The prestigious giant auto maker, Maruti Suzuki has strong grip over the passenger car segment and with an intention to sustain the market reputation, it has decided to widen its portfolio globally. The company will display the all new compact Maruti Ertiga MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) in the forthcoming 2012 Auto Expo.

The Indian market is booming with the high demand of the SUVs, which has recently recorded about 14% growth, whereas the MPVs too have steady growth rate with 11-12% shares. The all new Maruti Ertiga was first introduced at the last year Auto Expo and after completing the transformation phase of two years it will soon hit the Indian roads. The new Maruti Ertiga will certainly grab the attention of the people, who are aspiring to feel the great comfort & luxury of the sedan with more accommodation capacity.

The company is supposed to export the Maruti Ertiga as Completely Knocked Down Units (CKD). Its exterior feels an extended version of Maruti Ritz platform but relatively smaller than the Mahindra Xylo and Toyota Innova. There will be six colourful choices including Blazing Red, Midnight Black, Torque Blue, Glistening Grey, Silky Silver and Arctic White. Maruti Ertiga will be an ideal family vehicle that can accommodate seven people at the same time.

The feature-rich interior will offer unique sense of luxury. This will be available in both, petrol & diesel engine options along with two trim levels. Its 1.4 litre 1372cc K series engine is highly fuel efficient that can develop a peak power of 95bhp and torque of 130Nm. On the other side, the 1.3 litre 1196cc Variable Geometry turbo diesel engine will generate power of 89bhp. The company keeps its price under the wrap but as per some reliable sources will be priced around Rs.7 lakh.
