Maruti sales dip 18.46 percent during November 2011
The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki has witnessed a sharp fall in its sales for the consecutive sixth month in November. The company has registered a sharp fall of 18.46 percent during this month, with total sales staying at mere 91,772 units as compared to 1,12,554 units registered in the month of November 2010.
The total deliveries of the company dipped 19 percent to 82,870 units in the domestic market as against 1,02,503 units delivered in the month of November last year. Moreover, the total passenger car sales of the firm dipped 16.59 percent to 73,078 units as compared to the sales of 87,618 units same month last year.
Even the exports of the company saw a fall of over 1000 units, as it managed to dispatch only 8,902 units of its cars to the overseas markets during the month as compared to 10,051 units exported in November 2010.
Segment wise, the mini car segment (comprises of Alto, A-Star and Wagon R) remained the highest contributor in the company’s sales with clocking 38,921 units during the month as against 53,489 units sold in the same month last year, dipping 27.24 percent. The compact hatchback segment (Ritz, Swift and Estillo) on the other hand accounted for a sales increase of 3.72 percent to 22,159 units as against the sales of 23,014 units in the same month last year.
Surprisingly, the sales of company’s popular entry level sedan Maruti Swift Dzire surged 6.04 per cent to 10,403 units against same month last year’s sales of 9,810 units. The sales of SX4 sedan and Kizashi luxury car stood at 1,433 units and 162 units during the month.
