This financial year, Maruti Suzuki, India’s leading car manufacturer is looking forward to mount up its marketing budget by 5 to 10 percent. A company official stated that they are expecting around 5 – 10 percent hike in marketing and advertising expenditure, this financial year. Last year, the auto-unit invested around Rs 357 crores on promotional and advertising activities when it witnessed decline in sales due to various reason like Manesar facility strikes and high interest rates.

In addition, unavailability of enhanced diesel models’ line-up was another big reason for deteriorating sales. In last fiscal, Maruti Suzuki’s market share declined from 50 percent to 38 percent. The company official stated that with new and anticipated launches this year, the company is expecting to get good response from the enthusiasts. However he did not confirmed how many new products are going to be introduced.

The official further added that the company would be considering of investing a major share of the budgeted amount on the digital publicity, as it will play a vital role in promoting them. He affirmed that around 5-7 percent of the total budgeted expenditure would be incurred on digital advertising, this fiscal year.

Last week, the car maker, Maruti Suzuki has stepped in the MUV segment with the launch of its sensational 7 seater, Maruti Ertiga. Maruti Ertiga is available in 1373 petrol and 1248 cc diesel in-line options. The 1.4 liter, K-Series VVT petrol engine of this car churns maximum power of 95 PS at 6000 rpm and peak torque of 130 NM at 4000 rpm, while, the 1.3 liter DDiS diesel engine variant is calibrate enough to churn peak power of 90 PS at 4000 rpm and maximum torque of 200 NM at 1750 rpm.
