Maruti Swift Dzire new price from May 2012
This happens only in India that with the news of a price rise of its products, the stocks of the company too take an upward swing. But it happened on Monday when Maruti stocks climbed to Rs 1310.85 up by 2.31 percent. All credit goes to Maruti Swift Dzire that has become a little dearer starting May 1. Notably, the largest selling car maker Maruti has recently introduced the Swift Dzire in a new model that is under four meter long while it has dedicated the earlier generation Dzire to tour segment and renamed it as Maruti Swift Dzire Tour.

As per the reports, Maruti has increased the Swift Dzire price by Rs 8000 to Rs 12000. Notably, Maruti has increased the Swift Dzire Diesel price only and has kept Swift Dzire petrol prices intact. As per sources, Maruti is selling around 15000 Swift compact car monthly in India. Notably, Maruti Swift in the hatchback segment and Swift Dzire in the compact sedan segment are selling like hotcakes bringing in much expected overall sales figures to Maruti India. The Maruti Swift Dzire is a sedan based on a Swift hatchback platform and is wider than the earlier generation Swift Dzire. Meanwhile, Maruti has also added much features to the car that has also made it a hit in India.

Significantly, the under four meter sedan is the second such offering in India. The first being Tata Indigo eCS that has literally ruled the segment for years altogether. Furthermore, Mahindra is also planning to have an under four meter avatar of its Mahindra Verito sedan that has picked up sales soon after its rechristening in 2011. The Verito CS is expected to be launched in India this Diwali at a slightly lesser price tag than the current Verito. With the Verito CS in, experts believe that the compact sedan market will be quite dense and will have the real competition in place as compared to the current situation in which there are only two offerings.
