Maruti Swift Dzire petrol powered AT variant also becomes expensive

Just now we brought you the news that Maruti has hiked the prices of 2012 Maruti Swift Dzire diesel only leaving the prices of petrol version intact. But now we bring you the news that Maruti has also hiked prices of its AT variant available on VXI petrol trim by Rs 12,000. The VXi variant was earlier priced at Rs 6.54 lakh (ex-showroom price) which now has been raised to Rs 6.66 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi price). The automatic version is available in VXi variant only, while the petrol and diesel variants are offered in three variants each.

However, Maruti did not give any hint regarding the price hike during the launch of new Dzire and did not even mention that it had rendered the car at an introductory price. After the announcement of Union Budget 2012, Maruti raised the price of new Dzire (including both petrol and diesel versions), and now the company has hiked the price of Maruti Swift Dzire diesel and Swift petrol AT variant. Due to the timid sales of petrol version, its prices have been kept intact and only diesel variant’s prices have been hiked looking at the soaring demand for diesel cars in India.

Maruti Suzuki India is riding high on success with the stupendous performance of its compact sedan, the all new Maruti Swift Dzire. The new Swift Dzire is roping in 15,000 bookings on a monthly basis, outpacing its rivals, Toyota Etios, Tata Manza and Mahindra Verito. With such sales figure, Swift Dzire is clearly the winner in the entry level sedan segment. The shorter Swift Dzire has immensely helped pushing MSI’s monthly sales to a positive number.
