Maruti Swift Sport launch this Diwali… Really!
There is so much that’s happening, and more to come, in the auto bazaar with festivities just round the corner. The carmakers are either trying to gain consumer attraction via new launches or upgrades, while some are up with numerous exciting offers on purchase of existing vehicles. However, every eye is on passenger car king—Maruti Suzuki. The company has lately launched fresh-looking Maruti Wagon R ‘Pro’ and New Maruti Ritz, and is currently busy with forthcoming launch of Maruti Alto 800. What Next? Can we expect the real cracker this Diwali, Maruti Swift ‘Sport’, which is a more powerful and globally acclaimed version of popular Maruti Swift hatch in India. Yes, there are all chances of Maruti launching the adventurous yet expeditious hatch with a price tag of about INR 7-8 Lakh, which will be the distinct-most approach from any carmaker this season.
If Maruti endows wings to this strong speculation, then this splendid hatchback Maruti Swift will undeniably bring in tornado in the lives of rivals Skoda Fabia 1.6 and Volkswagen Polo 1.6. As Maruti Swift Sport will be seen with a 1.6L powerhouse sourced from Maruti SX4 sedan that generates 104PS of top power and 145Nm of peak torque. Here if Maruti goes other way round it will import the existing Suzuki Swift Sport as CBU that holds M16A 1.6L, 135PS gasoline engine. However this idea, with additional import duties, will take the costs next to a premium crossover, as in Australia it costs around INR 14 Lakh. Another prospect, besides the open option of 1.6L SX4 engine, can be the appointment of 1.4L motor from Maruti Ertiga that will be finely retuned to pull out power in excess of 100PS.
With either of the two, 1.6L SX4 engine or 1.4L engine, the price of Maruti Swift Sport in India will be in total control and moreover it will offer a delightful deal to young-n-restless Maruti customers. With this launch, Maruti will fast become the choice of gallant consumers too, apart from price and mileage conscious ones, who crave to break the shackles of a conventional hatch and take their vehicle to next levels in terms of optimum performance.
