Maruti Swift waiting period increasing; New Ritz, M800 launch delayed
The small car wizard, Maruti Suzuki India is selling double the cars than Hyundai India and that’s what makes Maruti Suzuki India the top car maker here. it’s very victorious Maruti Swift and Maruti Swift Dzire have a serious high demand in the country that makes them the 2nd and 3rd highest selling cars in the country since several months now. But, this position could take a toll now as the Manesar plant has been shut down for a month now. The Manesar manufacturing unit has a capacity to churn out about 5.5 lakh units per annum, which comprise of Maruti car models, like Maruti SX4, Swift Dzire, Swift and Maruti A Star.

The present shut down of Manesar plant actually means that the cars listed above will not be made for the time being. Both Swift Dzire and Swift have a high demand and with this demand the waiting period has been increasing with a rapid speed. The lockout here would further amplify the waiting period to more than 8 months. The potential consumers will have no other option but to pick the non Maruti car. Right now, the situation of Maruti Suzuki has got worsen as compared to 2011. In 2011, at least the Manesar Plant was completely shut down. At that point of time, the company was manufacturing Swift’s body frame at Manesar plant and then sending it to Gurgaon manufacturing unit for its complete assembly.

Besides affecting Swift waiting period, the Manesar plant lockout has also affected the launch of the face-lifted variant of Maruti Ritz. Earlier, Maruti was wishing to launch the new Maruti Ritz on this Diwali along with the new Maruti Alto 800. But even New Maruti 800 launch has been shifted to early next year. All we would say is Maruti is trying to battle it out with this tough situation and hopefully it will come out of it successfully.

| Edit ReplyShutting down of Manesar plant is not a good news. As Maruti is the most popular brand who is having the highest sales. But I don't think that it will loose its customers because of this problem.
