Maruti seems to be in a mood to compensate the loss of the sales by whatever means it could. It has opened the sale of Maruti Swift Dzire Tour car for private vehicle buyers and now reports are coming in that the car maker is also focusing on increase the car sales of low volume cars. Primary among these are Maruti SX4 and Maruti Grand Vitara. The sedan and the SUV are not performing well and in an attempt to bring some sensation, the car maker will be launching the facelift version of these cars soon. The reason of their non performance is first there being available in petrol only model and secondly due to the high price of these Maruti cars.

It is expected that the car maker will be giving the SX4 a clear facelift in 2014 and along with it may arrive the Maruti SX4 Diesel version as by then Maruti will be producing over 7 lakh diesel engines annually and there will be no problem putting one under the hood of the SX4. Meanwhile, confirmed reports suggest that by that time, the car maker will be assembling the Vitara SUV in the country and could also launch the diesel version of the same then. Once the facelift models and specially the diesel versions are in place, it is believed that the cars will suddenly pick up demand and could break all previous records as the only factor that is keeping some of the models of Maruti cars low on sales is that either they are pricey or they lack a diesel model.

Maruti seems to have learnt a lot in the past and it is the only car maker that knows the Indian car industry very well and why not when it has seen it grow since its childhood. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Indian car industry is the child of Maruti India.
