Maruti's Manesar and Gurgaon plants closed for one day
Maruti Suzuki India Limited, in order to adjust production to market demand, has made one day shut-down of the two plants today. The company is shutting down its five plants across Gurgaon and Manesar for eight days in June on the same reason. Maruti Suzuki's Gurgaon and Manesar plants have production capacity of 5,000 units per day while annual production of the company is about 15 lakh units.
At present, the country's largest passenger carmaker is reporting decline in domestic sales and export while, the production is continuing on its rate. Thus, in order to adjust production to the market the company has fired one day close at these plants. With it, the company has also announced for bi-annual plant closure for the summer season from June 17 to 22. MSIL has posted 14.4 per cent downfall in its total sales in May 2013 year at 84,677 units. The company's domestic sales went down 13 per cent at 77,821 units, over 89,478 units in same month of previous year.
On the other hand, in order to lure max to max customers in domestic market, the Indian auto major is going to introduce the CNG variants of popular MPV, Maruti Ertiga. The new Maruti Ertiga CNG is expected to be launched in next week and it will be made available in two variants like LXI and VXI.
