Maybach to go out, Mercedes S-Class to in
Daimler Chrysler has finally declared to halt the production of its ultra luxurious brand Maybach beyond 2013 seeing the constant loss in its sales over the year. As per our auto sources, the models to which company is going to first take-off are Maybach 57 and 62, decision on rest of the models will soon be taken. The replacement on which company has shown its interest is Mercedes-Benz S class, which has been a profitable venture for the company worldwide.
Whereas the worldwide sales unit of Maybach stood up to mere 200 units, S-class touched the figure of 80,000 units. So seeing the constant growth in S-class, this might work in favor of the company even in the growing markets like India.

The company has reported to bring about three wheelbase variations and six body styles of Mercedes S-class, which will be competing with the likes of BMW’s Rolls- Royce and Volkswagen’s Bentley. As they say, a discontinued brand is a sign of failure no matter what logic company produces, and history has been an eyewitness that such a move has always benefitted to other contenders, therefore, in this case, that plus factor is gained by none another than already doing well Volkswagen and BMW’s luxurious segment.
The decision of discontinuing Maybach is an outcome of an internal marketing analysis, which suggests Mercedes-Benz to better work on to get the pace in existing S-class, which has got all the eminences to stand as a strong player in all the markets globally.
Let’s wish good to Mercedes on a tough decision.
