MSIL To Enhance The Production of Dzire

Encouraged from the over whelming response received by the new avtar of its best selling compact sedan Dzire, country’s leading car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited is going to enhance its production up-to 20,000 units per month. The refreshed version of Dzire was launched during the month of May this year and interestingly within the span of four months of its launch it made the milestone of selling of selling 1 lakh units across the country by the end of October 2017. Not only this the compact sedan also became the best-selling vehicle within country successively for three months, thus defeating its sibling Alto hatchback.

Under the hood it is offered with existing engine configuration of its previous version in both the petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant is offered with 1.2 litre 4 cylinder VVT engine that is capable of boosting the power of 81 bhp and the torque of 113 Nm, whereas the diesel variant is empowered with 1.3 litre 4 cylinder DDiS 190 engine that generates the power of 74 bhp and the torque of 190 Nm. The transmission duties are performed by five speed manual gear transmission system, followed by the option of five speed AMT transmission system. The price of petrol variant falls in the range of Rs. 5.43 lakh to Rs. 8.37 lakh and the price of diesel variant in the range of 6.44 lakh to Rs. 9.39 lakh, both the prices are ex-showroom prices in New Delhi.
 
Commenting on the question of increasing the production efficiency, Mr.  Mr. R.C. Bhargava, Chairman, said “due to the ever-growing demand, the general waiting period for Maruti DZire has gone upto 3.5-4 months across the dealerships. Hence, the company is increasing the monthly production to bridge the demand-supply gap.”
 
The new Dzire is developed on the Baleno’s platform making it lighter as compared to its first generation. The exterior have been outsourced from the generation Swift hatchback in form of newly designed bumper and front grille, while the interiors have been copied from the Baleno hatchback.
