New Audi A4 launch on May 3, well before the new BMW 3 Series
It seems that Audi will be launching the new Audi A4 sooner than expected. The new Audi A4 launch will now be on May 3, 2012. Earlier it was scheduled sometime in June-July. The A4 saloon has received a facelift recently and is soon to be launched in India. Notably, Audi cars have surpassed the sales of Mercedes Benz to become the number two premium segment car maker in India. The current edition of Audi A4 is priced at Rs 35.15 lakh and the 2012 New Audi A4 is expected to be priced less than the present generation car available in India.

Significantly, the Audi A4 facelift launch is happening at a time when BMW mulls over the launch of new BMW 3 series car in India. Another important factor that supports that the launch of A4 is imminent is the increase in frequency of it being spotted during testing in India. It has just been spotted testing in Mumbai. Compared to the earlier generation, the new Audi A4 is far more improved in terms of performance as well as fuel efficiency. As far as the changes to the exteriors are concerned, the front headlamp and the nose grille have undergone a makeover. Meanwhile, the newly designed steering wheel, and the new MMI system are the new entrants on the inside of the A4.

In addition to this the German car maker has also improved the suspension system of the A4 making it more comfortable to drive and easier on Indian roads. With the tweaking of the engine, the A4 has gone more fuel efficient and is expected to be 11 percent more fuel efficient than the present generation car. Getting launched earlier than the BMW 3 Series sedan is expected to give an edge to the car in capturing the segment and it could be possible that Audi could supersede BMW in this segment.
