It is though not easy to spot the difference in a new Audi car but this time it will be quite a difference in the new Audi R8 spearheading for India very soon. The new R8 sports coupe will have a V8 engine with 4163cc engine and a V10 engine that has a cubic capacity of 5200cc. Whoosh! This much power in the all petrol driven Audi R8 almost turns it into a sports car. The Porsche 911, Mercedes SLK-Class, Maserati GranCabrio, Nissan 370Z, and Porsche Boxster rival car is currently available in Coupe and Spyder models. The Rs 1.15 crore worth car is one of the costliest Audi cars in India.

Besides the under the hood department changes there are hardly any changes apparent on the R8 and as per the general routine facelift changes, Audi could imbibe a new grille, a slight touch to the front and new bumpers plus headlamps to the new R8. As per the buzz, the Audi R8 will have a 450 hp 4163cc engine while the 5.2 L ten valve engine will have a max power of around 540 hp. Gosh! That is superb power for a sports car of this nature and India need to make suitable roads for such cars. The new R8 is expected this July.

Meanwhile, the new R8 readied by Audi will also have a double clutch unit in the gearbox contrary to the single clutch presently. Besides this the car will also have a more use of aluminium all over along with a great reduction in weight. Thus the new R8 will be lighter and quicker than the presently available models and this will further help Audi to counter Porsche and other sports car in India and also add some numbers to the overall sales chart this year.
