New Cars to Arrive in 2013
The Indian car market is all set for a new start and many new cars are ready to surprise the Indian car fanatics. Big names like Chevrolet, Ford, Jeep, Hyundai, Volkswagen and more will bring in their cars to make its fans and aspiring car consumers happy. The point here is to be noted that all these cars will be all new in their segment and may set new benchmarks in the industry. The first month of the year has seen many upgraded car launches but the real game changer hit the country on Feb 1st with the name plate of Chevrolet Sail Sedan. This is the first all new car in 2013 and still there are more to grace the auto industry in India. Check out the highly expected new cars in India:
The most ambitious electric vehicle of Mahindra, Mahindra Reva E2O will debut in India in March 2013. This electric hatchback is powered by 48V battery, which would churn out 39.4BHP of power and could drive up to 160km in a single full charge. The approximate price of Reva E2O would be around Rs. 4 to 6 lakh.
Honda Brio Amaze sedan is the next one, which will hit the Indian car markets in April 2013. This will give a neck to neck competition to Maruti Swift Dzire. What would be special here is that this sedan will make way for Honda’s 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine debut. The car’s price is expected to be Rs. 7.6 lakh.
Another much awaited launch for this year is Ford EcoSport. The car price would be around Rs. 9 lakh and will come equipped with a 1.0-Litre EcoBoost petrol engine. The sporty exteriors with top-class safety traits are the major highlights of the car. The major competition for EcoSport is Renault Duster.
In 2013, Jeep brand of cars will also make its debut in the Indian car market. The mid of the year will see the launch of Jeep Wrangler brought in by Fiat Motors. The price tag is expected to be competitive. Along with Wrangler, Patriot will also come to India. This one would be perfect for rugged terrain due to its 4x4 ability. The car is expected to be a success. Also, Jeep Grand Cherokee will make its debut here. This premium SUV will come loaded with all kinds of comfort and technologically advanced driving dynamics. The last one from Jeep would be Compass. This car would be coming with powerful engine and modish and convenience and comfort features. The prices of these cars are not been mentioned by the firm so far.
Volkswagen will also bring in its premium SUV, Volkswagen Taigun. The SUV might cost around Rs. 21 lakh and would be powered by 1.0-Litre frugal engine. This car was recently unveiled at the Sao Paulo Motor Show and fetched a lot of praise and appreciation from the onlookers.
At the 11th Auto Expo, Suzuki revealed an SUV based on the Swift platform. It appeared to be a mix of chicness and sportiness. The engine options are expected to be DDiS and K-Series and are likely to be extremely frugal and power-performing.Skoda will also bring in a new Octavia sedan that would charm one and all. This Octavia will be coming with all new platform, new exteriors and much better interiors. The pricing and launch details haven’t been made official by the firm so far.
The second largest car maker, Hyundai India will also be bringing a new MPV, codenamed HND-7. This one will be competing with Maruti Ertiga MPV. The fluidic exteriors with smart interior layout will make it one of the coolest MPVs in the Indian car bazaar. Hyundai had showcases this one at the 2012 Auto Expo and it managed to grab a lot of eyeballs there. This means that it might be an eye-catcher once launched in India.
General Motors India will also step foot once again in the MPV market with Chevrolet Enjoy. This will compete with Ertiga. Enjoy is expected to be much more comfortable and better than Ertiga. The mileage is said to be the highlight along with the low price tag. Apparently, Chevrolet Enjoy will cost around Rs. 7 lakh.
The last but not the least is the Ashok Leyland MPV. This one is said to be a chopped down version of Nissan Evalia and could target the fleet operators in India. The approximate price of this MPV would land around Rs. 8 lakh.
