Ford India, the India based subsidiary of the American auto giant Ford Motors, is expected to launch two new models in the Indian market next year. While the first one is expected to be a replacement of Ford Fiesta Classic model, the second one is expected to be a face - lifted version of company’s popular compact hatchback Ford Figo.

The Ford Figo model, which has been a major success in the country, is just a few months away from completing its two years in the Indian auto market. The car was launched in India in March 2010. Thus, a face - lifted version of the car is expected to be coming soon in the country. The new Ford Novo Fiesta (Figo known as Fiesta in Brazilian market) in the Brazilian market, which looks like a face - lifted version of Indian Figo model, is likely to be launched in the country as new generation Figo model in coming months.

The second model that is expected to be rolled-out in the country is the sedan version of Figo model, which is already available in the Brazilian market as Novo Fiesta Sedan. The new Ford Figo sedan model would be replacing the Ford Fiesta Classis, which is expected to be phased-out from the Indian market in the coming years. It is to be mentioned here that Ford India has already launched a new version of Fiesta sedan in the Indian auto market – Ford Fiesta Global – thus, the older Classic version is likely to be discontinued in the coming months. The Fiesta classic is on the same route in the Indian market which was chosen for Ford Ikon by the company a few years back.

With the launch of these two new car models, the company will look forward to strengthen its India portfolio. While the new version of Ford Figo is expected to take the success of previous version to a new high, the replacement of Fiesta Classic, the Ford Figo sedan is expected to give a tough fight to the likes of Maruti Swift Dzire, Volkswagen Vento, Honda City, Toyota Etios and Nissan Sunny etc.
