Ford India has certainly planned something big for India. First, it had expanded its capacity and then has hired new workforce and now it is testing the new Ford Figo in Chennai. It seems that apart from creating sensation with the unveil of Ford Ecosport Mini SUV at the Auto Expo this year and launch of the Ford Fiesta Automatic later on, the car company is also in a mood to rehash its portfolio before it adds new members to it. Recently the Ford hatchback – Ford Figo was caught in the lens while it was on a test run in Chennai.

The Figo is a small hatchback car launched by Ford in 2010 and Ford Figo price in India starts at Rs 3.81 lakh and is available in a variety of models giving tough fight to Maruti Swift, Skoda Fabia, Chevrolet Beat and others in the segment. Auto industry experts believe that the hatchback is seriously in need of a makeover as it is over two year old now and giving it a facelift now will mean creating a new buzz for this Ford car. Notably, in terms of price, the Figo is one of the most affordable hatchbacks in the segment and people prefer this Ford car primarily due to its brand value and low maintenance.

Ford Figo has seen some good days in India and it remained the most feasible hatch after Maruti Swift that was and is the market leader. Now that Ford is in the process of giving it a new look, it is believed that new Figo will be able to price itself well and will be able to make its way when other hatchbacks such as Nissan Micra and its look alike Renault Pulse have started settling themselves in the segment. Since there are limited details available regarding the new Figo, it would be unfair to comment as of now but informed sources have said that new Figo will have a lot of changes other than the exterior and interior makeover.
