New Hyundai i20 Fluidic avatar launch in April, official images out

Korean car Hyundai i20 is all set for a launch after recent frequent sessions of testing and consequent spying by the paparazzi. Official pictures of the new i20 have been released prior to the Geneva Motor Show. As per reports, the new Hyundai i20 will debut at the Geneva Motor Show commencing March 8 and will be launched in India in April. The new i20, a true incarnation of fluidic design of Hyundai will replace the current generation of the car. The new i20 price will be a little higher than the current i20 which starts at Rs 4.5 lakh ex-showroom. The newly designed i20 will be competing with segment leader Maruti Swift besides Volkswagen Polo and others. A post budget launch will help the Korean decide the price in a better way as by that time the impending tax on diesel cars will be decided.

The new i20 has played a successful inning in India and the new version is expected to copy the success story. As far as the changes that one will find on the new i20 these will be quite distinct with fluidic design speaking vociferously on the front, sides and rear as well. Expect the new i20 to inherit the design of the new Hyundai Verna Fluidic. The 2012 Hyundai i20 has a new front inspired by the fluidic design that has made it more streamlined and aerodynamic than before. There are new headlamps and a new grille design, new side linings and tail lamps. The front bumper and rear have also undergone drastic changes and are more streamlined to fit in the fluidic styling.

Apart from this, in order to beat the looks of Maruti Swift that has recently become the trendsetter design the new i20 has new alloys in place apart from overall body styling. The engine department on the other hand is expected to remain the same. For India it will be the same 1.4L, 90 bhp diesel and petrol unit. However, at a later stage, a six-speed manual transmission could be possible.
