Hyundai Santa Fe SUV that is being eagerly awaited has recently being unveiled at the 2012 New York Auto Show. It is almost 2-3 months that the market is abuzz with the series of spy shots and sneaking into the new design and technology that the new Santa Fe will imbibe. Now that it has finally broken its covers, the auto enthusiasts have taken a sigh of relief. Apart from other changes, the most prominent feature of the new Santa Fe is its changed looks. Fluidicity has now taken a new avatar and a stronger one than the Hyundai Verna Fluidic. However, the new design philosophy has been called as Storm Edge design. The new Santa Fe launch in India will be sometime next year.

The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe has an all new front, sides with prominent fluidic lines and rear all together transformed. As per reports, the new Santa Fe SUV is larger in size than the outgoing generation. Also, it will now be available in two seating options- five seater and seven seater. Compared to the five seater Santa Fe, the seven seater model is more wider, longer and lower and is expected to be much more popular than the five seater model. With Santa Fe having new dimensions, occupants will have larger leg, elbow and headroom.

Hyundai Motor has though preserved the 2.2 L engine that powers the current generation as well. There must be one high power engine also on cards as it has been spied recently. The 2.2 Gamma diesel engine is both high on performance and fuel economy. Santa Fe is also available in a 2L 150PS avatar. The 2.2 L engine delivers a peak power of 200 PS and is mated to a six speed automatic transmission while the 2L engine has a six speed manual transmission box fitted. The new Santa Fe is not all about looks and it has some realtime safety features as well. ABS, ESP and stability features, besides hill hold and hill descent control features are worth it.
