The largest manufacturer of utility vehicles in India, Mahindra and Mahindra is expected to launch a new version of their highly popular SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) model, the Mahindra Scorpio in coming few months. Mahindra Bolero presently is the largest selling Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in the rural sectors of the Indian auto market. Earlier pictures of the new Mahindra Scorpio were seen floating on the internet.

The major changes that the car is expected to get will be looks and engine. The new Mahindra Scorpio will arrive with a new face, with a number of changes in the exteriors. The other major change will be the engine of the car. The engine is expected to be a new CRDi (Common Rail Diesel injection) engine, and will deliver a peak power of 75 bhp. However, it is still not confirmed whether the company will use the aforesaid engine or the high power 2.5 L engine, giving a maximum power of 97 bhp, which being used in current model of Mahindra Scorpio. Also for the past few months, pictures of the upcoming Mahindra World SUV W201 and the miniature version of Mahindra Xylo have been doing rounds on the Internet. Mahindra and Mahindra is expected to launch these models in the Indian auto market by the end of the year. With the launches of these new generations of cars, Mahindra wants to strengthen its hold in the Indian car market. The launch will also allow the Mahindra models to compete more promptly in the Indian car market.
