New Maruti A Star spotted in a new destination
The global hatchback Maruti A Star that is popular in Europe and other parts of the world seems to have its facelift soon. Recently a facelifted version of the same has been spotted and it seems just a rework of the exteriors and is certainly not a new model of the A Star hatchback. Notably, the A Star is called as Suzuki Alto in some markets and the recent one has been spotted in China. Back in India, the A Star is a premium hatchback and is a close rival of Honda Brio, Hyundai i10, Hyundai Eon and others. The Maruti A Star thus spotted seems to have a different exterior styling from the current model.
However, the spied images of the new A Star in China do not reveal any information regarding the interiors of the car and as per sources information the new A Star could also get country specific changes on the inside. Overall, the car is one of the most sold car products by the Japanese car maker and bulk of the cars are exported to other countries from India. In India, the car sales could not pick up even in its initial days and its earlier generation car which is the Maruti Alto sells well than the Maruti A Star. Major reasons for this is that the A Star has less spacious on the inside and is available in petrol only versions when the diesel cars are in high demand. However styling wise, the A Star far exceeds Alto.
Currently, Maruti is also offering discount on its car and it is Rs 30,000 on Maruti A Star. At this price, the car is a close rival to Hyundai i10 and Honda Brio small car. The non-availability of the car in diesel is however demeaning its prospects in the country but it is the car that is perhaps the most exported to other countries as in other markets, petrol cars are preferred over polluting diesel cars.
