The Maruti Ritz, which is the cheapest diesel hatchback among Maruti cars, is soon to undergo a makeover. Or say new Maruti Ritz launch is about to happen. Being also the entry level diesel car by Maruti, it is the obvious choice for those who wish to have dependable diesel car and that too by Maruti. The next choice is Maruti Swift but that is a little costly that the Ritz. The Maruti Ritz price in India is Rs 4.16 lakh while the Swift price starts at Rs 4.44 lakh.

When the Ritz is the entry level diesel car and it has been over three years since this Maruti car has received any serious makeover, a facelift is what is imminent. As per the latest information available, the new Ritz will have new front and rear. The changes to the front would include a new fresh face with new fog lamps and the rear is expected to be reformed so that it gets over the unappealing rear view it has. It is said that the new Ritz will be copying some of the components from new Swift.

The engine configuration should be the same as the diesel motor has performed well on Ritz. The petrol engine is expected to be replaced by the K12 M 1.2 L VVT engine. It is expected that both the petrol and diesel engines will be made more fuel efficient so that the Ritz can compete with the exceptional mileage delivery by Chevrolet Beat Diesel and Tata Indica eV2. Where Maruti has already introduced the new Ritz in parts of Europe, it is expected to be launched soon in India. The Ritz price is expected to rise a little and could be between Rs 4.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. With the addition to the price tag there will be some features expected to be on the new Ritz. These could be dual airbags, audio system integrated, steering controls, alloys and above all air conditioning with climate control feature.
