New Maruti Swift Dzire compact version to get underway in February
Here comes the good news, India’s largest selling car maker Maruti Suzuki might finally launch its most successful vehicle Dzire’s Compact version in the month of February, which has been amongst the most looked-for cars of the year.
Earlier, it was said to be launched even before exhibiting this at Delhi Auto Expo, January 2012, but now it is looking ahead to test out viewer’s reaction first than to lock, stock and barrel the process.
The trial production of the car is going at company’s Manesar Facility, and testing process of the compact swift on different-different measures is on the go, which has been all positive so far.
Primarily, the investment having kept around 500 crore, the target is to seek the positive feedback and then getting full fledgedly into it. Company might initially target overseas markets too like Latin America and Europe along with India, where people are moving towards fuel efficient and smaller cars due to economic slowdown.
The whole idea behind upcoming Maruti Suzuki Sedan Compact is, to little shortening the existing model and to help it making more affordable. Moreover, having powered with the 90 bhp petrol and diesel engine options, this will certainly be a better mileage giver sedan, at a crucial time when fuel prices are least expected to go down.
The compact Swift Dzire’s 90 bhp petrol engine is likely to be based on 1.2 k- series engine of Swift, while the Multijet diesel train might be sourced from Fiat, the one which has been used in Punto.
As far as the price of Maruti Swift Dzire compact is concerned, it is likely to be lowered by Rs 45,000 than the existing model, therefore the ex-showroom, Delhi’s price of the new model will come close to Rs 4.49 Lakh.
There are other cheaper models too to join the league in the coming months including Mahindra Verito and Tata Manza compact versions. So stay tuned to Carkhabri for further updates on them.
