New member added in family of Vista hatchback by Tata Motors
Auto major Tata Motors has launched a new variant of its premium hatchback 'Vista' and said it aims to increase market share from the current nine per cent in passenger cars and vans segment. "Our market share at the national level is close to about nine per cent of passenger cars and vans included. With this new product obviously we are looking at increasing our share," Tata Motors Ltd Senior Vice President Passenger Vehicle Unit (Commercial) Ankush Arora told reporters here.
He said "In the last few months our share has certainly gone up, with the introduction of CNG product in the select market, and with the introduction of Nano Twist and the Vista Tech we see our share going up in the coming months." The company today announced the launch of new Tata Vista VX Tech priced at Rs 6.12 lakh, (ex-showroom Bangalore) and Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Without putting any numbers he said "....our expectation is that with the Vista Tech- that number will increase, and Vista Tech would add incremental volume to that base line number." The Vista range will now have three variants - LS, LX and VX.
The new Vista VX Tech comes with various features such as a touch screen multimedia system with GPS Navigation. Other features of the new variant includes steering wheel mounted controls and 'Drive Pro Console' with advanced driver information system. Meanwhile in Hyderabad on the launch, Ashesh Dhar, National Sales Head (South and East), Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors, said that new 'Vista VX Tech' has best-in-class features and latest technology, which offer great driver experience and come packed with high-end features. He said Tata Motors has close to 8 per cent market share in the Passenger vehicles market. "With new launches scheduled at Auto Expo (at Delhi in February), we do expect newer launches to contribute to larger volumes and better market share. This year's big for Tata Motors," Dhar said. On the new Vista, he said, "We are currently prepared for the demand in the market. We are looking to double the numbers. Dhar further said Vista is the fourth largest brand in Andhra Pradesh. "We do around 800 numbers of Vistas every month and in the overall passenger car segment it's the fourth largest. We do look to double the number, if possible, obviously it will depend on how the market demand is but we would like to make huge impact with it.
