New Mercedes Benz GL Class launched in India Rs 77.5 lakh
The new 2013 Mercedes Benz GL Class has finally been launched in Indian auto market today. The new beast has been offered to Indian customers as the high-end luxury SUV which carries the most advanced safety and convenient features along with fully re-freshed exteriors and interiors. The next generation version of GL SUV has offered at starting price of Rs 77.5 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi). Initially, the 2013 Mercedes Benz GL will be imported as CBU units from the US, but from September it will be assembled in India. It is reported a rigid competitor of BMW X6, Toyota Land Cruiser and Land Rover Range Rover Sport in terms of pricing and performance in Indian domestic market.
Price and Variants
Mercedes Benz India launched the 2013 version for GL 350 CDI model that will be imported as CBU unit (Completely Built Units). The new GL Class price in Indian auto market starts at Rs 77.5 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi), but by near future prices will be revised as the company starts its locally assembling at its Chakan assembly unit.
Engine Power and Mileage
The new GL350 CDI SUV houses a 3 Liter V6 turbo diesel motor that churns out a top power of 260 PS along with peak of 620 Nm. Power of the engine goes to wheels via a 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The seven 7 seater luxury SUV is capable to accelerate the speed of 0-100 Kmph in just 10 seconds while the top speed is 200 Kmph. Mileage of the new avatar of the SUV has also been enhanced.
Features and specifications
The new Mercedes Benz GL Class is a bundle of most advanced safety and convenient features which prove it a high-end luxury SUV. It features Active Park Assist, Cross Wind Assist, 360-degree camera and many more. It is reported that first 100 units of the vehicle will be sold in the country as “Launch Edition” version which come equipped with AMG body kit, temperature controlled cup holders, Designo Upholstery and 21 inch AMG alloy wheels.
