Land Rover Range Rover 3 L turbo diesel engine model launched, price starts at Rs 1.44 cr
The best selling JLR car Land Rover Range Rover has received the much awaited three liter diesel engine. Now there are two diesel engine options on the 2013 Range Rover. Sporting a V6 typo, the new engine has a maximum power output of 258 bhp and this is all the way the smallest of the total three engine options on Range Rover. Thus the SUV is now available in three engine options. There is a supercharged petrol engine and two turbo charged diesel options. It is believed that for Indian conditions and the price conscious market, this smaller capacity engine will be a great addition and it is believed that this will help give some thrust to the sales. The 3L engine powered Range Rover price starts at Rs 1.44 crore while the top trim in this engine options is priced at Rs 1.64 crore.
As per the information available such a enthusiastic move to launch the lower capacity engine indicating a probable decrease in the price of the Range Rover is aimed at good sales only. The new engine is mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox. Not only this, the lower capacity engine also returns more mileage and this JLR car is much more fuel efficient than its siblings. It delivers around 11.8 kmpl combined mileage and this means that taking this JLR car to far off places now will be much less expensive than ever. Though in vehicles of this price, diesel or petrol and mileage is seldom a consideration. But who doesn’t want to save money.
The top speed of this new model is 100 kmph it can sprint to a 100 kmph mark from 0 in 7.9 seconds which is way close to its other siblings. The new engine option car is available in two models HSE and Vogue. Where the HSE is the entry level variant, the Range Rover Vogue is the higher trim sporting this new engine.
