New Skoda Octavia Combi unveiled, launch at Geneva show

The new Skoda Octavia Combi images have come up just ahead of its launch at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show that commences on March 4. This car is one of the most important additions to the Octavia line up and sources believe that pitching in a new version of it alongside the new Octavia will be more than welcome by audience at the Show. Notably, the Octavia is called Skoda Laura in India and a new model of it is in the offing in the country. It is believed that the Octavia Combi will steal the show at the forthcoming event as it is almost a new car.

Based on the MQB platform, the new Octavia Combi is larger in size and dimensions from its predecessors. Alike its sedan body style car, the Combi too has several improvements that make it a new car in the segment and drives the people crazy about this new Skoda car. As per the reports, the car is 90mm long and thus it has improved legroom besides an overall extension in length. The new car has also gone fatter by 45 mm and the overall addition of length and breadth has resulted in more room inside as well as more of boot capacity. As per the information, the boot space has gone up to 610 litres which is more than sufficient for any long journey.    

The extension of the wheelbase is the result of the extended platform and Skoda has diligently used the extra length in the space inside the car. On the outside, the design changes inched a new grille, head lamps, new tail lamps, new hatch styling apart from an overall step up of the station wagon styling of the car. In addition to these, the car also gets a 4x4 variant that will have a VW derived four wheel drive system.
