New Skoda Octavia to arrive in India during the Festivities!
Guess who will surprise you this Diwali? Well it’s Skoda! The company has plans to bring in the refreshing new Skoda Octavia to the Indian car bazaar this festive season. However, the exact launch date hasn’t been revealed by the firm, but the tentative plans seem to be perfect. The pricing details have also been kept under the hood. But, according to the rumors, the price tag might land between Rs. 12 to 17 lakh. This makes it a major competition to Toyota Corolla, Volkswagen Jetta and Chevrolet Cruze. The company has extremely high hopes from the next generation Octavia and it might turn out to be superb in every section. Skoda has put in a lot of efforts to make the facelift a total stunner altogether.
This one has been based on VW’s MQB platform, which makes it wider, longer, and much more spacious and loaded with a lot of luxury. Besides this the car maker would be providing Skoda Octavia with variety of engine options. According to our sources, next generation Octavia will come in 1.4-Litre (140BHP), 1.8-Litre TSI (175BHP) and 2.0-Litre TSI (200BHP) engine options for the petrol, while for the diesel segment, 2.0-Litre TDI tuned to deliver 120BHP and 150BHP of power and 1.6-Litre TDI option churning out 105BHP of peak power. If reports are to be believed, this deluxe sedan might be offered in a CNG options as well. Automatic transmission is also expected to feature in this one.
Apart from this, Skoda has recently revealed Skoda Combi at the ongoing 2013 Geneva Motor Show. This one has been rolled out with some amazing safety features, including front assistant with city emergency braking function, proactive crew protect assistant, lane assist and driver activity assistant.
