Ford Motors recently asserted regarding their plans of making the most frugal car in the world. The company proclaimed that they are gearing up to start the development of the most fuel economic car in the world which will deliver better fuel efficiency than other cars in the global markets. Ford Motors officials informed that this car is still under discussion and the company is mulling to launch this car latest by the year 2014.

CEO of the Americana auto maker, Ford Motors stated that fuel prices are constantly rising across the global market and looking at the market condition a car which consumes less fuel is what everyone is hoping for. Therefore Ford Motors is now all set to develop a car that will deliver a mind boggling mileage and will give some respite to the car maker and customers too. The Indian portfolio of the company comprises of Ford Figo, Ford Fiesta, Ford Endeavour and yet to be launched Ford Ecosport.

Ford officials also informed that the car along with being excessively frugal will also demand low maintenance. They further informed that the car will be a small one with a capacity to seat four people. Ford claims that the car will be able to offer fuel efficiency of 25 kmpl. This small car will be launched in both petrol and diesel versions, out of which the petrol version will be launched first followed by the diesel variant.

Ford is positive that things will happen as they have planned and chances are bright that the booking for this small car will begin by the end of next year. Ford is eyeing to develop a car that will appeal to the people who shy away from buying a car due to low mileage delivered and high maintenance cost. The car is expected to come equipped with all the features that are available in all the modern cars and would not exclude any of the features just to enhance the fuel economy of the car.

However, the company did not hint on the price of this car they said that price is still being discussed and they have not taken any decision on it yet. Ford also plans to launch this car in other countries like Canada and Europe apart from American auto market. The company is also working towards enhancing the mileage of their cars which are already present in the market.
