New Ssangyong Korando launched

Mahindra owned Ssangyong Motors has reportedly launched a special edition of its super SUV Korando in some car markets in Europe. The new edition christened Ssangyong Korando LE has been spotted in UK recently. Among other garnishing, Ssangyong has introduced 18 inch alloys a significantly placed rear spoiler and a never before introduced privacy glass. Notably, Mahindra which has a major stake in Korean car maker Ssangyong has showcased the Korando SUV in India at the Auto Expo and is soon to be launched in the country.

As per the official information by Mahindra, it will be launching the Ssangyong Rexton SUV and the electric car Mahindra Reva this Diwali. The Korando launch could be in the coming months. The Rs 15 lakh SUV will be an addition to the fleet of Mahindra SUVs in India however, in India Mahindra will be bringing the SUV under the badge of Ssangyong. The Korando SUV recently spotted in UK seems to be the higher priced edition of the 173bhp SUV. Reportedly, the interior has a unique heating system for the front seats and there is a new steering in place besides a newly garnished leather strapped gear lever. There are also other gizmos in place in the Korando special edition such as parking sensors. There is also cruise control and other drive assist systems to make it more drive friendly a besides imbibing true SUV features.

Sources say the since the UK editions are more probable to come to India, the Korando launched in UK could be the model that will be heading to India. The special edition model is available in three colors in UK i.e White, Black and Red. A 2 litre turbo diesel engine powers the Korando and gives it 173 bhp that makes it easier to be maneuvered in any terrain. The Korando price in UK is £17,995 (Rs 13.94 lakhs) and since the Indian edition will be CBU in the beginning, experts believe the Korando price in India to be similar to this.
