Small car Volkswagen Golf is about to enter the seventh generation and the car is going to rock the segment. The Golf MK7 as it is sometimes called has its images swarming the internet and there are few that appear to make it ultimately a must buy car. The official release of the car will be at the Paris Motor Show on September 29. An India launch could happen late this year. As a highly anticipated car, the Golf is also one of the cars that the German car maker highly banks on as far as the numbers on the sales chart is concerned. Also being a small car the Golf sells well and is among the top five cars in some countries.

A close look at the car reveals that it has little impact of the facelift and the exteriors remain all the same. But there is a close eye on detailing on the front. The new bumper, headlights and the new grill vociferously tells that it is a new car. Some of the design features have been derived from the VW Passat and the dual exhaust pipes are a clear indication that the up market features now house in the new Golf. The new design features have not only made the car sporty but has also made it well suited to contend with its segment rivals. The new Golf is also an avatar on the VW’s new platform – the MQB. This platform is going to house many more cars and the basing Golf on this means that there could be some price slash on the cards as well.

Meanwhile, the car maker has launched the Polo GTi in China. The GTi has lots of new features that are unavailable on the regular Polo available in India and elsewhere. Side skirts, dual exhaust pipes, 17 inch alloys, GPS, seven speed automatic gearbox, traction control and what not is there on the new Polo.
