Nissan Evalia unveiled, details and specifications available now

Two MPVs are in the process of launch. These are Chevrolet Enjoy and the Nissan Evalia. These two MPVs will be targeting the Maruti Ertiga that has almost swept the market to its side. Besides, these will be competing with the Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo as well. As a significant improvement, Nissan has unveiled the Evalia details and specification to the online media recently. Held in Bengaluru, the program highlighted every inch of Evalia and now full details and specifications of the car are available. Only the Evalia price will be declared at the launch.

First showcased at the Indian Auto Expo held in New Delhi in January, the Evalia MPV had created the buzz and since then it is believed to be the closest rival of Innova and the Ertiga. Notably, being large in size and being the best car in the taxi segment in US, the Evalia is believed to repeat its global success story in India as well. However, its big size could put this into the commercial segment just as the Tata Winger is compared to the Tata Venture. The commercial version of the Evalia will be christened as Evalia Stile and it will be produced by Nissan’s Indian ally Ashok Leyland. As per the details made available at the introduction program, the Evalia will be powered by 1.5 L K9K CRDi engine that will churn out 85 PS of power and it will have a mileage of around 19.3 kmpl.

Believed to have sufficient space for seven six foot people, the Evalia boasts sufficient headroom, legroom and elbow room for all occupants. Besides, the storage space will also be big enough making it one of the cars with the highest storage space. In order to keep a tab on price, the Evalia will have as high as 85 percent local content. There will be four variants viz. XE, XE+, XL and XV. Safety features such as EBD and ABS will be part of all the models.

If the company does not pay heed to the exteriors of upcoming Evalia, I don’t think that this car is going to be a successful product in the Indian auto-market. Another cause of worry for an Evalia buyer can be the pathetic service network of Nissan
