Nissan Motors is celebrating big time. Its electric car, Nissan Leaf managed to become the best selling electric car across the globe. Today, the manufacturer of Nissan Sunny and Nissan Micra announced its financial results for 12 month span that ended on March 31st this year. Last financial year was quite profitable for the firm and the international sales of Nissan touched a record breaking number of 4.845 million units, which is just mesmerizing for the auto industry. The unit sales of the company went up by 15.8% as compared to 4.185 million units from 2011. On the other hand, the total industry volumes went up by 4.2% from 72.6 million units in 2010 to 75.7 million units. During this success, Nissan Leaf made its own mark by becoming the best selling electric car in the world.

The CEO and president of Nissan, Carlor Ghosn mentioned that Nissan has delivered an excellent performance in the last financial year and the growing sales and profits have made Nissan achieve great heights. Nissan Motors also recovered quite rapidly from the earthquake that happened in East Japan in March 2011. The company internationally launched 5 models last financial year including Tiida in China, rear and front wheel drive version of NV400 commercial van in Europe, Lafesta Highway star in Japan and finally Infiniti JX in USA.

In the international car market, Nissan showed some impressive growth as well. The sales in China came out to be spectacular and saw a growth of 21.9%. While in USA, sales of Nissan went up by 11.8% and in Europe comprising of Russia sales showed a hike of 17.5% and in Japan the sales of Nissan car grew by 9.2%. The other auto markets showed a growth of 16.4%.

With such an impressive growth figures, Nissan Motors is quite proud and apart from Nissan Leaf, in India, Nissan Sunny and Nissan Micra are also a major reason behind success of Nissan Motors India in last financial year.
