Nissan NV200 MPV heading towards Auto Expo 2012
It hasn’t been too long, since the Japanese auto major Nissan has commenced its operations in the country, but within a short period of time it has earned great reputation among its consumers in India. After the smashing success of hatchback Nissan Micra and Nissan Sunny sedan the company is again in the limelight with the expected launch of its first Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) Nissan NV200 at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo.
The Nissan NV200 is expected to be powered either by the 1.5-litre dCi engine that presently serves Nissan Micra, Mahindra Verito and to be launched Renault Pulse or a new 2.0L power-train that the company plans for USA launch. The Nissan NV200 is estimated to be priced in the bracket of INR 8 lakh to 10 Lakh.

The vehicle was initially produced as a Low Commercial Vehicle (LCV) but the engineers at Nissan have made essential adjustments to shape the vehicle into an MPV that could match up to the Indian needs. In the name NV200, ‘NV’ is signified as the New generation Vehicle.
The Nissan NV200 MPV was displayed in the concept form at the Tokyo Motor Show of 2007 and had won accolades from the industry experts. The vehicle was out for sales in Japan in the year 2009 and in the same year it was launched in the European auto sector.
Since its launch in Japan and other parts of the globe it has won many awards, firstly in Japan it was named as the ‘Van of the Year 2010’ followed by the honor of ‘Taxi of Tomorrow’ in the year 2011 in the city of New York.
