Jaguar Land Rover, British car maker wholly owned by Tata Motors will be unveiling their all new Range Rover Evoque convertible concept at the Geneva Motor Show starting March 8. As per sources, with the unveil Range Rover Evoque will become the first SUV in the world to have a convertible body style available. Notably, the Range Rover Evoque was launched in India in November last year at a price of Rs 44.75 lakh ex showroom Mumbai. The Range Rover Evoque is available in both 5 door and 3 door body styles presently.

The world's first premium convertible SUV concept is said to explore new possibilities for Jaguar Land Rover and is expected to increase the customer base for the SUV besides founding the convertible SUV segment. Sources further said that since the new convertible Range Rover Evoque is a concept, it is being unveiled at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show which is a perfect platform to showcase the design and engineering to the world and to assess customer reaction and based on the feedback, the company will be thinking of putting it into commercial production. However, as per company sources there are no plans of its production as such.  

Significantly, Range Rover Evoque is among the 40 new products that the British car maker proposed to launch in the next five years. The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is produced at the company’s Halewood plant and was launched globally first in Europe six months ago and later in November 2011 it came to India. It is being sold in over 170 car markets across the world. Furthermore, the Range Rover Evoque was an instant hit and the bagged 18,000 units order prior to its launch. It is available in three diesel powered models and a petrol model in India.
