Renault Lodgy coming in January 2015
Lodgy MPV from French car maker which has been in limelight since it was for the first time witnessed being tested on Chennai roads near company’s production unit. It is reported that car maker is finally going to launch the highly awaited MPV in Indian car market sometimes during the month of January next year, after which it will join the segment of already dominating MPV players like Ertiga from MSIL, Innova from Toyota, Enjoy from Chevrolet, Evalia from Nissan and upcoming MPV’s Mobilio from Honda and Go Plus from Datsun.
The MPV would be launched in diesel version which would be equipped with K9K 1.5 litre turbo diesel engine with two power generating options of 85 bhp and 105 bhp, although at the time of its launch it will be offered with only power generating efficiency of 85 bhp. The same engine is already being offered in its elder sibling Duster SUV which established a new benchmark in SUV segment of Indian car market at the time of its inception. According to industry players the new Renault Lodgy would be offered with price tag falling between Rs. 8 lakh and Rs. 11 lakh.
Renault Lodgy is already being sold in European car market and it has succeeded in enjoying the expected success. It would be interested that as the MPV is also developed by Renault’s subsidiary Dacia, it is also developed on same platform on which its SUV Duster was developed. However the basic difference between Duster and Lodgy would be lodgy’s spacious cabin along with dynamic exterior looks.
