The Nissan Sunny’s rebadged avatar from Renault stable – Renault Scala sedan as it is being called will be launched in India in September. This is the back to back latest update that has reportedly come from the industry after the reports of series of Duster launches throughout the nation. Notably, the Scala is expected to be priced less the same way Duster is priced and is believed to be targeting the mass segment sedan market. Maruti Swift Dzire, Toyota Etios, Ford Fiesta will be some of its rivals. The Renault Scala price as well as launch dates are not yet declared.

The Scala will be the fifth car line up for this year and Renault has already launched four of them – Renault Fluence, Renault Koleos SUV, Renault Pulse hatchback, and the latest Duster SUV. Expected to target the popular sedan market in India that is fast growing and heading towards premium sedans, the Scala will be a car that will be offering much in less price the same way Duster is doing. Meanwhile, there are reports that the Scala or, the Scela as it is also called this way, will have a lot of safety and other features offered at less price. Also, being a rebadged Sunny, it is expected that some of the design elements will remain as it is in Scala as well.

It is also reportedly known that the new Renault sedan will be giving tough time to its rivals just as Duster is giving sleepless nights to Tata Safari and Mahindra Xylo besides Premier Rio. Also the segment still finds a new offering after the Etios sedan and the Swift Dzire sedan’s new avatar. It is said that the Scala is in development phase and will be soon launched in India with an altogether Renault look quite dissimilar to Sunny sedan. The same 1.5 L petrol and diesel engine options will be translated on to the Scala as well.
