Renault Scala launch nears, price to be near Rs 6 lakh

The Nissan Sunny twin Renault Scala is set to arrive on September 7. But what has preceded its entry in India is the trust and wonder that the Sunny has created. Knowing that it is a remake of the Sunny sedan, its success is beyond doubt. In some respects, it could beat Sunny if Renault is able to price it somewhere under Rs 6 lakh. It should be misunderstood that sharing the same engine configuration, platform and some looks, means that it is only a lookalike of Sunny. The Scala sedan has much more to offer. The pre launch Renault Scala reviews have been exceptional and those who were fortunate to be behind the wheels of this French car were flabbergasted.

The rework by Renault seems to be apparent everywhere and juxtaposing the car with Sunny will really ravel out hazy similarity between the two. Similar in looks at the rear, it seems that Renault engineers were fatigued by the time they reached the rear, they were so amazed by the Sunny looks that they could not bring about better than that. Meanwhile, the Sunny rivals including the Toyota Etios, Hyundai Accent, Mahindra Verito, Tata Indigo, Maruti Swift Dzire, Ford Fiesta Classic will automatically be the rivals of the new Renault car Scala.

Being the partners in a car plant, Renault and Nissan have started sharing the platform with the Renault Pulse which is a French translation of the Japanese car Nissan Micra. Now that Renault has copied two of Nissan’s cars, it is the turn of the Japanese car maker to copy French. As per the update, Nissan will be bringing in a compact SUV based on Renault Duster. Since both the car makers share the same plant, it is not at all cumbersome for them to copy models as the cars are produced on the same production line.

I am very excited for its launch and would wish that the company would introduce this car at price of around 8 – 10 lakh.
