Renault Scala sedan to see a pre-Diwali launch- Official

Thought Renault would stop with runaway success of Renault Duster. No way! The new unleashing will be ‘Renault Scala’ sedan and that too before Diwali’2012. The Scala sedan will be positioned as entry level sedan for the French carmaker that will be seen fighting for space with Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Skoda Rapid. The best part is that it will be initially launched with diesel-run engine at around INR 6-8 Lakh, which will be a bit higher than Nissan Sunny price. If this piece is not enough, Renault is also pumped up for the launch of a fine entry level hatchback in the coming times.

These are all the official announcements made by a senior representative of the France based company. According to him, the 1.5L diesel power-train with 84.8bhp of max power will again be seen serving Renault Scala that is currently responsible to drag Nissan Sunny Diesel. The petrol version will join the line up after diesel introduction. The sedan will be premium in all aspects be it interiors or exteriors or even performance and also will carry a price that is higher than that of Sunny. With this high quality offering, Renault wants to maintain the image of being a quality carmaker in India.

There will be new headlamps and new grille at front along with modern tail lamps at rear of the Renault Scala. The company is pretty clear that it will not be just the swapping of badges, as seen with Renault Pulse-Nissan Micra case, but a complete makeover. The new Renault product is designed at auto firm’s Mumbai Studio to get that unique touch.
